HELLO

I’m Christine, the primary grower at Gateway Garden Farm. I am passionate about growing local and healthy foods and I hope to inspire and help others actively participate in their own food production journey.

I’ve been a home gardener and food preserver for over a decade. I’m a certified permaculture designer and I’ve had the opportunity to work on several small farms over the years.

Our mission is to inspire and help people actively participate in their own food production.

OUR PRACTICES

On our farm, we prioritize organic, regenerative, and permaculture practices to nurture the land, cultivate healthy food, and enhance biodiversity.

We actively promote environmental stewardship by growing a large portion of our own food, planting native species to restore wildlife habitat, offsetting our energy consumption using solar photovoltaic panels and harvesting rainwater with cisterns and swales.

Land Acknowledgment

We acknowledge we operate on the traditional lands of the Suquamish tribe. We are grateful for the opportunity to live, learn, and work on this land. A portion of our proceeds will be donated to the Suquamish Foundation.

OUR FAMILY

We're the Knisely Family: Christine, Brett, Kai, and Tori. We live and cultivate 5 acres on the outskirts of Gig Harbor, WA. We moved onto this land in 2018 and have been hard at work building our home from the ground up, growing and preserving food, and restoring wildlife habitat.

While Christine currently does most of the growing, harvesting and preserving, our farm is a true family effort. Brett, tackles all of the farm construction projects and our kids, Kai and Tori, help in their own little ways.
